New Managing Director at AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH

As from the 10th May 2010 the Management team of AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH will be reinforced by the inclusion of Dr. Martin Roll . 38 years old, he will be the successor to Reinhardt Erdmann-Leutner as spokesman for the Management and, together with Amélie Charisius, will guide the fortunes of AHS in Germany. Mr. Erdmann-Leutner will still continue to give valuable support to the company in the role of Manager of Marketing and Sales. AHS Aviation Handling Services GmbH is market leader in Germany amongst providers, not affiliated to airlines, in the field of passenger handling and operations. It provides its services to more than 130 airlines in 14 airports throughout Germany using its own stations or those of holding companies. Overall the AHS Group employs over 2,200 staff members the length and breadth of Germany. AHS is a joint enterprise of six German airports in which Hanover Airport has a share of 34.75 % and Hamburg Airport a share of 32.25. Dr. Martin Roll has extensive experience in the air travel industry. Since November 2006 he has been a member of the Management of Hanover Langenhagen Airport. In this function he was responsible for the fields of concern strategy, concern controlling, holding management and risk management as well as for the project steerage office. Previously he worked in a variety of positions including appointments at Lufthansa Cargo AG and Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Frankfurt. He completed his studies in business science in Brussels in 1996 with a degree in economics. In September 2004 he wrote his doctorate thesis on Future Opportunities and Risks in Air Traffic. Since 2009 he has been guest lecturer for Airport Management at the International College of Higher Education in Bad Honnef.
